Unfair Play Leads To Agony

Prompt: Santa

Word Count: 430

The inuyoukai stared down at the slip of paper in his hand then looked back up at the garish, brightly lit shop in front of him. It was the one that had had that tasteful advertisement for children to be elves earlier. The sign had now been removed from the display window, and Sesshoumaru once more double-checked that the address on the sheet from his secretary was, indeed, the same as the one which had this store occupying it. Yep, this was it.

Stepping through the revolving doors, Sesshoumaru wondered why his main partner and joint CEO wanted to meet here. As soon as he left the polluted air of the main street, he was wishing to go back into it - the scent of candy, sweat and tons of children met his sensitive nose. Barely keeping down the bile that threatened to rise into his throat, the demon pushed his way through throngs of 'oooing' and 'aaahing' children who were accompanied by their haggard and grim-faced parents.

He had almost reached the designated spot to meet - beside the Santa's Grotto, when a tired-looking store clerk sidled up to him and said,

"Where on earth have you been?! We've been running around like crazy, trying to keep everything under control until you showed up!"

More affronted at the fact that the thin man had grabbed his arm as he said that then preoccupied with the words, Sesshoumaru didn't notice another clerk ushering them into a small, striped tent before he was thrust into it and some rough material was thrust into his hands with the instructions, "Put that on, and get out there now."

Extremely annoyed that these imbeciles had confused him with someone else, he made to leave until the person he had come to meet popped their head through the flap and smiled.

"What is the meaning of this?"

Confusion momentarily crossed the woman's face before she smiled and laughed,

"Good try Sesshoumaru-san, but you're not getting out of it! Your wife assured us that you were happy to do it and you had better not disappoint!"

She made to draw back and give him some illusion of privacy, but stopped hurriedly when his iron grip fastened on her wrist. Looking up, the woman shivered involuntarily as her captor's eyes flashed red for a moment before he bit out,

"Do what?"

Slightly worried that he would crush her limb if she gave him the wrong answer, she hesitantly replied,

"Be Santa in the grotto. Your wife had said you jumped at the idea. You did agree to it, right?"
