Hard Times Call For Desperate Measures

A/N: This is the first prompt from Sesshou's POV, yay!

Prompt: Nidus - A nest or breeding place.

Sesshoumaru watched as the hanyou snarled at the miko, anger barely held in check as the woman shouted abuse at him, her own expression similar to that of a feral animal. Their companions watched on, horrified, as tears of rage escaped her eyes and a triumphant smirk adorned the silver-haired male's features. The daiyoukai was not fooled, however. The useless mutt was clearly wounded by her words and was obviously frustrated that he could not refute them.

It was the usual argument; Inuyasha had run off to indulge in his necrophiliac fantasies with the clay miko when the group needed him, whilst claiming to harbour genuine feelings of love and respect towards the living priestess. It was pathetic. How could they not understand that the half-breed was not an honourable creature? All his actions thus far had significantly out-weighed any token gestures of goodwill he might have accidentally made. Yet they still defended him and followed him blindly- into ridiculous battles which should have obliterated them, had he himself not intervened.

This situation they were currently in was self-destructive. It was truly astonishing that they had managed to survive for this period of time with such idiotic and trusting members, but it would not last. He could see this rag-tag group falling apart at the seams, their relationships strained and swiftly becoming toxic. It was a breeding place of mistrust and ruin... He and his own would have no part in it any longer.

"Sesshoumaru-sama... where are you going?"

Kagome's worried question fell on deaf ears as the daiyoukai walked away. That was the last any of them ever saw of the stoic Western Lord and it was an image that would remain in their minds for ever; his white and silver figure being swallowed up by the encroaching shadows of the forest.
