A quiet sigh registered through the calm of meditation. Opening his eyes, Sesshoumaru's gaze immediately affixed onto the young woman who had unwittingly disturbed his exercise.

"What is it, Kagome?"

Momentarily startled, she quickly responded, "Nothing."

He didn't deign to raise an eyebrow at her unconvincing response, just stared at her blankly, knowing she would cave eventually.

"Fine!", she huffed, "I want to go home."

Her words took him by surprise. This time, his brows did raise.

"Are you not content here? Our quest is not complete."

Was she truly so eager to leave him?
