The inu made no attempt to hide his incredulous disgust. The bright scarlet substance the miko was offering him smelt vile; bursting with fermented fruit, alcohol and the cloying smell he had come to associate with too much sugar.

"Yes! It's just cherry liqueur, Sesshoumaru! Don't be such a coward!"

Narrowing his eyes at her teasing, the demon snatched the beaker from her grasp and downed the drink quickly, not bothering to savour the flavours. As he'd expected - it was awful. But her smile more than made up for it.
