Chapter 7: Lich

Inuyasha?”

Yeah?”

What the heck is that!?”

The half-demon smirked. “A walking skeleton with a glowy stick, what else?”

Kagome fingered one of the arrows in her quiver before pulling it out and notching it on her bow. “Well, why is it here, and how did it follow you and Miroku-sama home? If this thing ruins Halloween for everyone, I’ll S-I-T you so much, you won’t wake up tomorrow!”

Quit your whining, Kagome. I’ll just hack it in two, and we can go back to your Halloweenie thing.”

It’s Halloween!”

Whatever. The same plan goes. Just–” He paused. “Oh, great…”

The woman groaned when a horde of undead creatures appeared behind the first figure. “What is this, a Sou’unga rerun?”

What’s a–”

Not now, Inuyasha.”

Keh! Fine. I’ll take care of `em myself!” But as he and Tessaiga moved to intercept the army of fleshless corpses, a flash of white and silver nearly crashed into him as it streaked ahead. “Oi! Get back here, Sesshoumaru! I’ve got first dibs!” he hollered, ears flicking in irritation. “Who invited you anyway!?”

Kagome growled at her friend’s childish antics as she pushed him forward. “You’re wasting time! Just hurry up and go already!”

Sheesh,” he muttered, cracking his neck and then rolling his shoulders. “Don’t gotta be all bossy.”
