Honestly Kagome was surprised that she was still alive. The life she lived was not one she wanted to continue living. It wasn't exactly the kind of life that harbored fondness for anything. There was one thing that Kagome enjoyed, one silver lining in her life of misery, her dreams. There was that time when she was allowed to finally slip into blissful unconsciousness, that he came. The only reason that Kagome was even still alive. She wasn't even sure if he was real or if her brain had made him up in an attempt to cope with the horror of her every day life. She liked to believe he was real though, and that one day he would be her deliverance. Speaking of he was right on time.

“Kagome.”That wonderfully deep voice spoke her name.

“You're here.” She sighed softly in relief.

“Of course I am.” He said with a radiant smile.

“I was worried.” Kagome held her arm by her side. Here in her dream realm, her skin was flawless none of the bruises were present and she wore a pure white silk kimono with light blue flowers and a matching light blue obi.

“Why? Have I ever given you reason to doubt?” He seemed almost hurt.

“No, never.” She quickly amended. “ I would surely die if you weren't here.” She said honestly. “Yet you won't even tell me your name.” She said with a slight whimper.

“You know I cannot dear. You know the power of a name. So I beg you not to ask for mine. It just isn't safe koi.” He looked so distressed, as if not being able to give her an answer caused him actual pain. The way it contorted his perfect features broke Kagome's heart and she immediately hurried to comfort him.

“Forget I even asked, It's okay.” She said, her soft lulling voice having a calming effect on her dream lover.

“How are you today? What has he put you through.” He touched her cheek, beckoning her closer to him. A flush quickly covered her cheeks, her shame becoming easily known. “What happened?” He looked angry now and she did not wish him to be angry, not at all.

“It doesn't matter, really it doesn't.” She tried to hush him, to take away his anger, but it did not appear to be working.

“What.Did.That.Foul.Beast.Do?” He said in a tense sentence as he pulled her closer and watched her look up at him from timid blue orbs, he noticed that they were losing their color. This was not good.”

“He hounded me more for the location of the jewel.” She said in a timid, quiet voice and she found she could no longer look him in the eye. “I was beaten, put through all kinds of physical torture, and he raped, ripped and cut me down there.” She whispered as she watched him roar in anger. “I'm sorry I could not stop it.”

She thought that he was mad at her? That was absurd.

“It is not you that I am mad at koi, not in the least, but we must get to you soon, I cannot leave you to be in his nefarious clutches. I will find you and soon. But please, for me....hang on. I cannot lose you, not when I am so close to finally finding you.” He whispered as her pulled her to him for a crushing kiss as he devoured her lips. He needed her to know that he was real, that he was coming for her.

“How will I know that it's you?” She whispered, big doe eyes looking up at him through thick lashes.

“You will know koi, but I am afraid that it is time for me to go.”

“No! Stay a little longer. Please I beg you!” She cried but as she spoke he was already fading from her sight.

“I wish I could, but remember that I will find you.” He said as he faded away and she found herself waking from her dream state.

“Kukuku, nice to see that you are awake now Kagome.” Naraku's sinister tone drawled as he looked at the beaten priestess before him, she still bled vaginally from where he had assaulted her yesterday. And what a delicious assault it was. “Perhaps you have decided that you are ready to tell me the location of the jewel.” He said as a tentacle trailed down her cheek. She refused to speak so she was struck hard, her head swinging to the side, she took her time bringing it back. “Silence will reward you with nothing but violence miko.” She then spit blood in his face.

“I'd rather die.” She was hit hard again and as her head was down she whispered. “He is coming for me, he is coming...”

“No one is coming for you miko, you are alone.”

"Damn you to hell Naraku, I know what's true, and he will come."  She said as fire rose up her brilliant blue eyes for the first time in a long time.

"So be it priestess, you brought this upon yourself."  Naraku said with a maniacle laugh as he set about a fresh round of torture for the priestess.
