For a while quiet reigned in the back of the limo, but unable to stand it any longer Kagome spoke up,

“Please Sesshomaru-sama tell me about them, I need to know.” She didn’t even make an attempt to keep the desperation out of her voice, at this point she didn’t care if he thought she was pathetic; he was her only chance to finally get the answers she had been searching for.

To her surprise he takes her hand rising it up while simultaneously lowering his head, for a split second she entertains the thought that he intends to kiss it.

“It would seem that you have encountered an eidolon.”

Realizing that he had been examining her injured wrist Kagome yanks it away, rubbing it self-consciously.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about I just scratched it on something.”

“Hn, you are an abysmal liar miko.”

“Yeah, well I don’t even know what an eidolon is, but I’m pretty sure I’d remember coming across one.”

“I see, then tell me miko have you seen any of your companions lately?”

A picture of tight grayish skin, empty eye sockets, and a miniscule mouth attached to a skull, hanging awkwardly upside down flashed before her eyes.

“You have,” his statement leaves little doubt that he knew all along what her answer would be.

“S-Stop changing the subject, what I saw was only a hallucination. I want to know what happened to my friends after the well closed!”

“Do not presume to order me around miko. If you had been paying attention you would know that I have not, in fact changed the subject once during this conversation. “

“I-I’m sorry I just don’t understand what’s going on! I tried so hard to find a way back and when I failed, I kept waiting for someone to come for me, but that didn’t happen and now you’re here and I-I just…” To her horror she felt tears fill her eyes and flood down her cheeks.
