“Someone once told me that the right time is the time in which they need it the most.  Koga’s been kind of down these past few weeks.  Haven’t you guys been trying to get you pupped?”  Kagome asked as she looked at Ayame lovingly, she was like a sister to her.  Especially since she and Sango didn’t talk anymore.  Ayame had stepped up and filled that void that consumed Kagome back in those days in which she gave up everything she knew for love.  Miroku still visited on occasion, but she was sporting a scar on her lower back, that could be seen on rare occasions.  Inuyasha didn’t take well to her revelation that she and Sesshomaru were soul mates and that she loved him.  Although Inuyasha didn’t want her his beast had had other ideas.  Sesshomaru fought for her fearlessly and when he could have taken Inuyasha life he spared him with a single word from Kagome.  He took her to his castle and they never looked back.

“Yes, I just don’t know how he’ll react, especially with the sex of the baby.  I know he wants a boy.”  Ayame’s eyes looked at the ground.

“You really are stupid sometimes aren’t you?”

“Excuse me?”  Ayame said as anger flew into her eyes. 

“I mean that Koga will be thrilled either way dear.”  Kagome said as she smiled and put a hand on Ayame’s cheek. 

“I suppose you are right…”  She trailed off as a smile slowly came to her face.  “…I’ll tell him tonight, at the gala.” 

“Fantastic!”  Kagome squealed with joy.
