Sanosuke Discovered

“Sango… I honestly don’t know why Emperor Sesshoumaru saved me.  His wounds were bleeding so profusely that I forgot to thank him for saving my life. ” Kagome stabbed her broccoli with her fork and then turned her attention to her rare steak.

“I would think it was all based on chivalry… I mean what male wouldn’t save a damsel in distress?”  Sango focused on getting her beans in her mouth while focusing her attention on Kagome’s reaction.  She watched as the dog demoness’ cheeks turned  red.

“I don’t think he would degrade himself to save a combat medic.  I mean who would want to risk getting hurt when they could just replace me if I died.  I do agree with your logic Sango” She finished her raw meat and waited patiently for Sango to finish her meal.  They had about ten minutes before they boarded their jet to return to Tokyo to await the crowd that was sure to congratulate them when they got off the jet.

“Let’s go Sango!  I want to get home as soon as I can!”  Sango snorted at her friends pressuring and threw away her tray into the trashcan that was located off in a corner.  Sango grabbed her duffle bag as Kagome did the same.  They were dressed in their ceremonial uniforms and took off toward the area where the main tent used to be set up.  Across the camp you could see soldiers hastily getting on their assigned planes.  Since Kagome would be riding with her father, their plane was the last to leave.

The atmosphere was not as bad as it was the last few days of the war.  Now you could sense the relief and happiness that this war was finally over.  Families would now be able to reunite with their loved ones.  Kagome was just as excited as Sango about the idea to get home as well, but had to wait for her father and the other officers to get their belongings ready. The last of the soldiers boarded their cargo plane and took off to head back to Tokyo.  This singled that they were about to leave.

Kagome and Sango waited patiently when they saw a few of the officers, General Hatsu, and finally Emperor Taisho round the corner of one of the few tents remaining.  All the men, demon and human and even a hanyou, were all dressed in their ceremonial uniforms.  “Hey Kagome….am I the only one who thinks that men in uniform look good?” Kagome, while staring at her savior, nodded her head in agreement.

Sesshoumaru heard his captain say that to the beauty he saved a week ago.  His pride increased when he saw the daughter of his general nod her head.  She caught his attention the first time he saw her assisting a human male that was shot in the shoulder.  He watched as she stayed calm and collected and even fought against the enemies who tried to kill her.  He loved the way she controlled her blue lightning.  It was a sight to behold.  Ever since he saved her, he insisted to officially meet her.

He never knew his general had a daughter.  A beauty such as herself, he would hide her from a world filled with greed and selfishness.  As he and his men approached the two females, he kept his eyes locked with the demoness that had her own icy stare fighting against his.  He knew he was going to win; he always won, so eventually, she turned her glare back to her friend.

“It is time we go home….I say we hurry up and board the plane!”  General Hatsu was so excited to get home that he basically ran toward the plane and encouraged everyone else to hurry along.  Sango and Kagome gave each other a knowing smile and shrugged their shoulders.  The officers were a little stunned to see their general act like an excited child and Sesshoumaru kept his cool and collected demeanor as he made his way to the jet that they were going to be flying home in.

Kagome and Sango got to the jet first to get the best seats and realized that there were no pilots to fly them home.  “Umm…Dad? Who is supposed to fly us home?”  Sango and Kagome were both dumfounded while everyone else looked on as they knew something that the two girls didn’t.

“I thought someone told you guys already.  Emperor Taisho is flying us home.  We should be honored” The captain of the artillery, a dragon demon named Mansu, informed them in a snobby voice.  The two girls deadpanned at the demon and turned to basically signal that they ignored him.  Realizing what just happened to him; Mansu snorted and entered the jet.  General Hatsu laughed at what just occurred while joining the now angry dragon demon onto the jet.  The other officers joined them followed by Sango and then Kagome.  As she was about to enter, Sesshoumaru grabbed her by her elbow gently.

“I wish you to ride with me Ms. Higurashi” Kagome looked on at her emperor with an astonished face.  She thought for a few seconds before swallowing nervously and shaking her head in agreement.  Sesshoumaru allowed Kagome into the jet first and then led her to the front of the jet and to the cock pit.  Everyone in the jet looked on in confusion as they watched the dog demons enter the cock pit without saying anything to anyone.

As Kagome got herself situated, she watched as Sesshoumaru started to turn the jet on.  His fingers glided over buttons unknown to her as they blinked to life.  He put on his headphones and started to say unknown words to whoever was on the other side.  She studied him as she watched his face.  Soon he had the jet in the air.  When they got to their appropriate height, he turned on auto pilot and got comfortable.

He turned his attention to the demoness that was reclined in the co-captain seat just staring into the sky.  He studied her for a few minutes before breaking the silence.  “You do not seem as excited as the others about going home.”  Kagome turned to look at the silver haired demon in question.  “I’m happy to be able to go home.  I have missed my mother and little brother.  I just want to get home to my son” At those words, Sesshoumaru turned fully to stare at her.  She had a son?  Does this mean she also had a mate?  Before he could ask the question, she answered it for him.

“He is actually my cousin’s pup.  The day after he was born, I found him on my doorstep in Tokyo while I was on leave from the war.  I took him in and eventually claimed him as my own as he has claimed me as his birth mother.  I realized he looks a lot like you.  He has the silver hair and even the red markings above his eyes.  What makes me more suspicious is the fact that he has your family crest on his wrist.  Kikyo has yet to tell us who the father is so we never had our confirmation that he is from a male in your bloodline.”  After she said that, she watched as his face just stayed stoic.

“I will see if this pup is from my bloodline.  What is his name?”  Sesshoumaru turned and started to once again press some buttons.  As she watched him, she told him a little about her baby boy.

“His name is Sanosuke.  He is now a year old and is already trying to talk.  I was surprised when his first words were dada…I was hoping it would have been mama.  He is filled with energy, but can only crawl around at the moment.  I haven’t seen him in months and just with to hold my son in my arms.”  Kagome hugged her knees to her chest and turned back around to stare at the sky.

Sesshoumaru was about to reply when he heard her light snores.  He took the jet off of auto pilot and faced forward to continue to fly the jet back to Tokyo

There was only thirty minutes before they would land onto Japan soil.  Since Kagome had fallen asleep, Sesshoumaru kept himself occupied on trying to identify this mystery pup.  He had a feeling it was the pup of his reckless half-brother Inuyasha who actually disappeared a year ago without a trace.  Abandoning a pup basically threw the responsibility onto the alpha of the family, which just so happened to be him.

General Hatsu stopped by for an hour to chat and even offered to drive the jet to give Sesshoumaru some rest.  He took the chance to rest and went to the sleeping cabins in the back of the jet and took himself a light nap.  After his nap, he reclaimed his spot in piloting the jet and relieved his general.

Now he was preparing to land the jet onto Tokyo city airport.  The runway was cleared for their arrival.  Off to the side to the airport sat the cargo planes that carried all the soldiers home.  Sesshoumaru announced over the intercom to put their seatbelts on.  He turned toward Kagome and tried to wake her.  After several attempts, she eventually came too and put her seatbelt on as instructed.

Sesshoumaru turned to take a glance at her and saw that she had anticipation in her eyes.  He figured it was from seeing her son.  He also wanted to confirm his suspicion and see if this pup is fathered by his half-brother.  When Kagome saw that they were landed and ready to exit the jet, she bolted from her seat and was the first to exit and head off to see family.

General Hatsu followed his daughter who was also followed by everyone else.  As Sesshoumaru made his way to the lobby of the airport, flashes from cameras were going off as cheers erupted from the crowed that formed over the few hours before they landed.  Reporters surrounded him asking him questions about the war.  He declined them all as security started to push back the nosey reporters to give him some space to breath.

Sesshoumaru looked around him and found his officers with their families.  He turned his head to the right and caught his general embracing his wife and son while in the background, Kagome was cuddling a bundle.  Sesshoumaru made his way over toward her and just when he was about to tap her shoulder, Kagome whipped around to face him with her son hidden from his view and herself baring her fangs.

Sesshoumaru pulsed out his aura against her own.  An ongoing battle was happening between the two dog demons before the pup said something that astonished them both out of their power fest.

“Da…dada…”
