Chapter 19: Rumors in the Workplace

There were many whispers and outlandish rumors whichever floor he went on to do his job after the encounter with the woman and shortly after Rin left. It couldn’t be helped, he saved the CEO of Higurai. He hated to be the main topic of anything and rather have a stress-free working environment, but it was hard considering people would just look at him and start whispering, talking about him blatantly and his actions.

He was doing what a normal gentleman would do, he merely stopped a ladder from collapsing on Kagome Higurashi. Rumors would spread either way if he chose to stand there and have done nothing. Sesshomaru shook his head when another rumor flew into his ear, saying that he and Miss Higurashi were secret lovers or something similar to that. He wanted to correct the fools, but it would add more fuel to the fire as they would think he was in denial. The days where he was that anonymous maintenance worker were now gone and he desperately wanted them back.

Everyone now knew him, staring at him with their beady little eyes, all them having a questionable jealously in their gaze. The women, he knew without a doubt were jealous of the CEO, but the men, it was pointless; they could snag her up before he could even think about it, he was just a maintenance worker.

He gave a quiet sigh, fixing another flickering light. Now he must deal with the consequences of being known.
