            Sesshomaru’s eyebrow twitched as he heard her fidget.

            “Miko. Meditate.”

            He heard her huff.  “I’m trying! I know that I have to, to get in touch with my spiritual side and unlock my powers further and all of that, but it’s so boring.”

            “Silence.”

            “Sorry.”

            Thankfully, she quieted down and allowed Sesshomaru to continue in his own meditation… for all of two minutes.

            She let out a gusty sigh. “I think I want to take a bath after this. I hope I can get the hot springs to myself this time.”

            Sesshomaru’s eyes shot open, but he closed them before she noticed. He then proceeded to give himself a forceful mental shake in order to stop thinking about things he shouldn’t be thinking about. He needed to focus on his meditation.

            “But maybe I don’t want to take a bath alone.”

            Sesshomaru’s concentration faltered.

            “Do you think I can convince Sango to join me?”

            “Miko,” Sesshomaru said, working to keep his voice at its normal deadpan. “Quiet.”

            “Oh! Sorry, about that. But seriously, do you think she’d say yes? Because lately, she’s been saying no and taking her baths ‘alone.’”

            Her emphasis did not go unnoticed, nor did it do anything to help Sesshomaru bring his mind back to the place of meditation.

            “But-“

            “Miko,” Sesshomaru interrupted, his eyes opening so that he could glare at her.

            She froze and smiled sheepishly. “Sorry!”

            “Leave.”

            “Okay.”

            Sesshomaru reclosed his eyes only after she disappeared. He was never meditating with her again.
