When It Rains by LM Bluejay

Blowing Wind

.

There was no denying it; the day’s events had not been pleasant. He would deal with mother’s antics but Higurashi left him on edge.

Something akin to distrust manifested from the very moment he read her profile. Their first meeting in person had been no better, but he had attributed it to being nervous. Anyone would’ve been under those circumstances; having a child with someone you didn’t know was daunting.  It was because of that he initially decided to keep the peace between them no matter what.

And it worked… for the most part, despite the few incidents that shortly followed. The ground they stood on was a little rocky, but in all honesty it was to be expected. Running away from mother was understandable. Fainting at an ordinarily immobile object he could see. But everything else that came afterwards proved to be a bit more perplexing.

She was undeniably stubborn when it came to the topic of demons. No matter what she saw she had a ready excuse to explain everything. But their son was half demon, thus her ignorance had to be broken. So, in an effort to smoothly bring her to light he decided to show off a little of his powers. Surprisingly, she took to his poison exhibition well even though she shortly labeled him a magician. With the days passing he demonstrated extreme speed, levitation, and great strength. But then she started to get bored and would often recede to the privacy of her room. Gurinman advised that it was probably her way of coping. But it seemed to him that she was already versed with seeing such abilities.

Releasing his human form didn’t’ change her heart rate. The exploding energy to do so should’ve had her on her knees. Only a few humans have been documented of this accomplishment. That’s when the idea popped in his head. She had to be one of them. He just needed a means of proving it.

She didn’t deny my claim outright.

“Mi’lord, I’m telling you she’s not a huntress.”

“How did you…?”

“Truly? You were staring off into space again. Look, this day has been a tiring one. I suggest you take the quiet time to relax.” With a gentler tone Gurinman added, “I’ll even allow you to have your favorite drink.”

“Apple cider with star shaped ice cubes?”

“In a Tour fifteen ounce wine glass, sure.”

He moved stealthy along the building until he found the balcony to her room.  Using the apple blossom tree near it, he easily hopped over the terrace railing. After executing a perfect tumble roll he immediately slid behind a wall. He could spot his prey sitting on her bed.  Kagome was painting her toe nails black.

Alright maker, prepare to be met. Today’s the day you dine in hell.

Something ticklish ran the back of his hand. Brown eyes zoomed to something hairy and dark.

“Oh my god!” he swung his arm. The large spider was thrown off in a flash. He tap-danced frantically in hopes of squashing it when another shoe finally ended its life.

The pink stiletto lifted off the ground.  “You’re as big a baby as ever.” Kagome looked at her son and frowned. “I got your message. What happened to Sho?”

A/N: Second realization...I'm a bit of a goofy writer. Muse is back again. Time to let these chapters role! (Also, PS: the guy who snuck into Kag's room was Cloud.) :)
