Prelude to Destruction

Prelude to Destruction

Still trying to keep her cool after Inuyasha’s desertion, she spotted a white silhouette making his way from the direction she was headed. Cheering up at the sight of the impassive ally, she went up to greet him.

“Oh! Hey Sesshomaru!”

He frowned at the petite woman before him. “Familiarity breeds contempt--and children.”

She couldn’t help but burst out laughing. “Who knew you actually had a sense of humor,” she giggled. “I think I might be impressed.”

 “Hn.”

“Ok, then. Well, you wouldn’t mind telling me where your dear little brother went, would you?” Golden eyes hardened as he stared at her with a bored expression. “Know what? It’s fine. I’m sure he’s just at the village. Thanks!” she replied leaving. “For nothing,” she sighed under her breath.

“Priestess.”

She stopped mid-strut turning her head back towards him. “Yes, o’mighty lord of awkward exchanges.”

Her sarcasm laced slang irked his nerves, but he refused to let it show. Turning away from her, he huffed. “Gullibility kills, and you’re at high risk…I wouldn’t go down that path.”

“Ah-hah! See now that’s where you’re wrong, because I’m so totally am!”

“You were warned,” he resumed strolling towards the well.

Shrugging his words off, she headed for the village. Upon her arrival, she was met by Sango and Miroku. Their nervous expressions told her that something was indeed amiss.

“Kagome-sama! Welcome back,” the monk squeezed her form tighter than usual; a ghost of a hand was detected rubbing up her rear end.

Eyebrow quirking at Sango’s lack of usual reaction, Kagome just knew that something wrong. “Alright,” she demanded. “What’s going on?”

The demon slayer shifted anxiously under her gaze. “W-what do you mean?”

“Seriously? Miroku just got a free pass on my ass and you didn’t do anything?  Now spill!”

“It’s not what you think!” Sango suddenly cried.

“What’s not what I think?”

“And I did warn him against it,” Miroku nodded gravely.

“Warned who against what? Is this about Inuyasha?” Their lack of eye contact told her it was. “Where is he?”

Before they could answer, a howl of pain roared through the air followed by an agonizing moan.

Heart racing with fear she took off towards the source of the sound, completely ignoring her friends’ distant calls.

I know I heard him somewhere near here. Stopping briefly within the middle of the village, she heard another yelp not too far. There! Don’t worry Inuyasha I’m coming!

Bursting into a hut, she found the missing hanyou. A young woman was there sensually molding his bare back while he lay on the floor purring like a newborn kitten.

Kagome’s eyes ignited with a flame that could burn the entire village down.
