I frowned imperceptibly at my father’s words. Inuyasha snickered next to me, and I took a deep, slow breath, restraining myself from turning and kicking him into the next realm.

“Yes, father,” I finally said.

“Good,” my father smirked.

My left eye started twitching.

Walking away from the pair, I headed to where I spotted Kagome with Rin, Izayoi standing a little behind them. Kagome gestured to the massive tree in front of them, explaining something to Rin.

“This is the Goshinboku, Rin,” I heard her words carried by the light breeze. “It has lived more than five hundred years.”
