I looked at Kagome as she struggled trying to decide whether to go or stay. She bit her lower lip, her eyes focused on the floor in front of her. I wanted to smirk at her innocence.

“You can leave if you want to,” I commented off-handedly. Then, lowering my mouth to her ear, “or you can stay,” I whispered, seeing the hair on her arms and nape stand.

“Play some more Dead Space 2?” she asked, looking as frightened as a rabbit about to be chased by a hungry dog.

“We can play. But definitely not Dead Space 2.”
