At that moment, Kagome’s eyes turned so crystal clear, I could almost read her thoughts.
The hurt. The misunderstanding. The deep craving for someone to acknowledge her. Her blue eyes suddenly became so befitting of her emotions.
And I could see it was all directed at my half-brother.
She turned her head and her eyes landed on mine. An unspoken statement went on, and I stood up to take her somewhere away from the fool.
But Sango beat me to it.
“Come, Kagome. Let’s go get some ice cream from the kitchen,” the girl said, and dragged the miko along.
