The Spy

Sable eyes tracked the three males down below. Silently, red feathers carried him in a tight orbit under the sun. He dared to hover closer...but not a moment later he was found.

His target sent him a rufescent glare and light warning. Large terracotta wings changed direction…away from danger, against the wind.  

Sunset approached when the great Western palace finally appeared.

The hawk landed on a marble balcony. Hastily morphing into his humanoid form, he breezed past the guards and entered the throne. Before the silent male, he sunk into a bow.  “My Lord, I’ve found him.”

Tawny orbs glowed.
