The walk continued through the palace kitchen and concluded outside along the royal pond. Sitting near the water’s edge they watched multicolored koi swimming around.

The comfortable peace later shifted into an awkward silence when Kagome found her companion starring off into space. Heart clenching with sudden realization, she frowned. “Rocky…?”

“Hm?”

“You’re getting into trouble again…because of me, aren’t you?”

“Probably. But that never stopped me before.”

“But what if this time they actually…”

“Lecture me to death? I’m pretty sure I’ll survive. You, however, I’m a little concerned.”

“What? Why?”

“You’re jurisdiction over your life is being overruled.”
