Unsure of which way to go, he quickly became disoriented within the city’s crowded streets. Attempting to ask for directions, he found he was promptly ignored. People babbled and rushed by carelessly sending him stumbling across the floor.

Locating a vacant spot away from the mass, he took to the solitude with fervor.   

He watched, annoyed, as they moved about senselessly.

Two hours passed.

This is hopeless. I’ll never find her here.

He stopped mid-thought with his musings as she walked right on by. The smile on her face, though inviting, the hidden depth in her eyes held him still.
