The Jeweler

Chapter 175 - The Jeweler

*Caught By the Glittering Moment* (Stella's Soundtrack Challenge)

The crowd split down the middle, making way for the group to head towards the center of the village where the market was located. Shop owners rushed along as well, not wanting to miss the possible income that could be made off the Western Lord and his companions. Lord Sesshoumaru did not personally visit their village often, but when he did, one little girl went home with a great deal of goods. No one minded little Rin because she was the cause of a many sales, which helped keep their village prosperous. They suspected that the Lord's new mate and other companions would bring them even more money.

As they passed by the various buildings and booths, a jeweler addressed the soon-to-be Lady of the West. "Excuse me, My Lady, but I do believe this would suit your complexion well. Would you like to try it on?"

Kagome turned to look at the item being held out to her and shook her head. "No thank you. I can only wear one necklace at a time, and I just got this one," she said while running one finger absently over the lapis lazuli moon hanging from the necklace around her neck.

"Is that your mating gift?" the demoness asked in shock. When Kagome nodded, she sighed. "It is incredibly beautiful and intricate. May I ask what jeweler fashioned it, My Lord?"

*I Want To Shout I Love You* (Stella's Soundtrack Challenge)

Kagome giggled. "He's not really a jeweler."

Sesshoumaru nodded. "It was crafted by Totosai, the master sword smith."

"He did an amazing job. You are very cherished, My Lady."

"Indeed she is. No man has ever loved a woman as much as I love my angel." This time Kagome did blush, but she reciprocated the kiss the taiyoukai bestowed upon her. She had never heard something so sweet and before recently she would never have believed something so romantic could ever come from Sesshoumaru's mouth.

"Do you know where we might find painting supplies?" Kagome asked the astounded woman who was mentally questioning what in the hell had happened to her Lord to make him show emotion and speak in such a way. It was a shocking but welcome change. Lord Sesshoumaru had always been so very alone. Finding love could only improve his temperament, which was a good thing for all.
