A/N: I must apologise for the characterisation of Sessh's mum (mom if you're American) here; it just had to be like this XD

Prompt: Aggressive (Week 16)

Kagome fidgeted nervously, worried about meeting the Lady Tashio. Not only was she Sesshoumaru's mother, but also a very powerful and cunning demon in her own right (or so Jaken had informed her).

Rin looked at the older girl sympathetically. "Do not worry Kagome-san; Lady Tashio is very kind- she saved Rin!"

"Saved her? How? When?'

Before she had a chance to muse over her discovery properly, a servant announced Lady Tashio's presence and Sesshoumaru's mother swept into the hall.

Kagome felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise as she involuntarily gasped. She was beautiful, ethereal, absolutely stunning.   

Kagome had never felt so insecure in her life. 'She's one of those women who make other women jealous. Kami, now I know where Sesshoumaru got his looks from.'

Glancing at the male daiyoukai, the miko was surprised to see contempt in his gaze.

"Mother."

Lady Tashio laughed, the sound like windchimes in the large, ornate hall. "Come Sesshoumaru, I believe you can do better than that. Why don't you introduce me to your... companions?"

Kagome blinked as golden eyes came to rest on her own, almost aggressively. 

"This is Kagome Higurashi, the Shikon Miko who travlled with Inuyasha and aided this one in the defeat of Naraku," Kagome bowed, maintaining eye contact with the lady, "and the kitsune Shippo, who also travelled with Inuyasha and fought against Naraku."

Shippo's chest puffed out with pride before he bowed low, tail swishing behind him.

Studying the two of them for a long time, Sesshoumaru's mother seemed to be unaffected by the mounting tension as they waited for her to do something.

Slowly rising from her seat, the Lady Tashio walked forwards until she was almost nose-to-nose with Kagome, who had to resist the urge to turn and run.

"Miko... do you like chicken?"

Kagome nearly hiccupped with relief. "Erm... why yes I do, Lady Tashio-sama."

"Please join us at supper; the chicken is most delicious."

And with that profound statement, she left.

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru, utterly nonplussed.

"What just happened?" Looking down at the confused kit, Kagome just shook her head.

"I have no idea."
