Puzzled

A/N: I have recently learnt that 'tai' means 'fish' not 'big' as 'dai' does, so from now on, Sesshoumaru is a DAIyoukai, not fish demon XD  Hope everyone's enjoying!

Prompt: Puzzle (Week 7)

Bewildered was not a state that Sesshoumaru, Lord of the West, often found himself in. In fact, he had no recollection of such ever occuring. But it was certainly happening now; he just couldn't figure the miko out. The small onna, with her strange mannerisms and ridiculous garments, was a puzzle. One that he was determined to solve.

Yet thus far he had been thwarted at every turn. His own superior intellect could not provide a plausible answer, nor could the wise Bukuseno. The woman herself was of no help; she refused to answer his enquiries, hinting only that she came from "very far away". Perhaps she had travelled from the mainland? He was a very patient youkai, but if he didn't get some answers soon, he wouldn't be the only one who'd had a limb removed. 

So now he had turned to his next source- the kitsune. Sesshoumaru waited for the miko to relieve herself in the bushes before turning to the youth perched on Ah-Un with his ward.

"Kit, you will tell this Sesshoumaru about the miko."

Shippo blinked up at the daiyoukai, suddenly very nervous. "Erm... what do you want to know?"

Kagome crooned to herself quietly as she made her way back to her travelling party. Due to Sesshoumaru's incredibly sensitive hearing (and nose) she had to travel quite far from the group before she achieved her desired level of privacy.

'I'm getting a workout every time I go for a pee! My fat to muscle ratio must be ridiculously good.' Stumbling through some particularly clingy bushes, the miko turned her attention to an interesting scene.

Sesshoumaru, fearsome demon lord, was leaning against a tree with Rin, an animated Shippo eagerly telling them something. Kagome didn't really notice that Jaken and Ah-Un were absent, too concerned with this topic she was missing out on.

"...and that is how you make pancakes!" Settling herself beside Shippo, she looked at his captivated audience and raised an eyebrow.

"Seriously? This is the topic which is enthralling you?"

At the blank look he sent her, Kagome shrugged. Sesshoumaru was so puzzling.
