Kagome stiffened, her tears long since depleted by her emotional outburst. Yet, now that she had stopped crying, her spiritual powers- which had been screaming for her attention- informed her that she was not alone.

'Urgh, I'm so dim!' The young miko mentally berated, 'I could've been killed- could be dead very soon, and I'm just sitting here bawling!'

Kagome couldn't remember the last time she'd been so disgusted with herself... if she was going to die, it wouldn't be on the tear-stained ground.

Slowly, she rose to her feet and turned towards her hidden company. Feeling very nervous, but prepared to fight if necessary, the woman prodded at the faint demonic aura with her miko ki.

Swiftly, so swiftly that she wasn't sure if she had imagined it or not, the watcher's yoki expanded to terrifying proportions before vanishing.

Kagome shivered, slightly stunned at what she'd just experienced. Who was that? Why were they watching her? The newfound revelation that an unknown person was spying on her made the time traveller's stomach churn. Was this the first time, or had they been in the shadows before? All these questions revolved around her brain, and her unease grew. Suddenly, the tall trees which had been her protectors now seemed to contain hundreds of eyes that analysed her every move.

The miko snorted, realising that her paranoid thoughts would lead to nowhere. 'I guess the saying is true: ignorance is bliss.' For a few moments Kagome debated whether to go straight back to the cave or explore the area for a trace of her visitor.

Deciding on the latter, she let her mind wander as she walked. That aura... it had been familiar, and the young woman shook her head to dislodge the ridiculous thought that was taking root.

There was no way Sesshoumaru was spying on her!
