Kagome hummed to herself as she walked down the corridor, noting the delicate artwork adorning the walls- clearly done by a talented painter. After the awkward situation with Sesshoumaru last night, the young woman had resolved to explore the shiro and try to remember where important places were; like the hot springs.

A servant scurried towards her from the other end of the corridor and bowed. "Is there anything you require miko-dono?"

Shocked at the ridiculously respectful enquiry, Kagome barely managed to stutter a reply.

"Why yes- could you tell me how to get to the library?"

As the servant gave her the desired directions, the miko noticed a small passageway beside a beautiful vase and wondered what could be down there. Bowing once again, the helpful youkai left her alone in the corridor.

Glancing to her left, then her right, Kagome contemplated her choices. 'Find out where the rooom full of undoubtably interesting scrolls is, or venture down a small, out-of-the-way stairwell?'

The choice wasn't exactly hard.

Feeling a little like a secret agent, the curious human skipped down the narrow staircase, surprised that it was made of stone and very long. By the time she reached the bottom, her feet were aching and her knees were starting to cramp. 'And I've got to climb them all again! Ugh.'

Turning to see what she had discovered, Kagome was disappointed to see a single solid-looking door with a few candles on the floor lighting the small space. 'Well, I've walked all this way, I may as well go through the door.'

Picking up one of the candles, Kagome pushed the door. It wouldn't budge.

Rolling her eyes, she reached for the handle only to find there wasn't one.

Leaning in for a closer inspection, the miko was surprised to see that it didn't even have a keyhole.

Annoyed, she kicked the door in a futile attempt to find out what was on the other side. "How am I supposed to open a locked door with no keyhole?!"

"You are not."
