Agreeing to play hide and seek with a centuries-old demon who could leap skyscrapers with minimal effort and fly on a cloud made of his own spiritual energy was probably not the brightest idea Kagome Higurashi had ever had. But it was definitely one of the most thrilling.

"Ready or not, here I come!"

Y'see, the thing about Sesshoumaru was that he didn't mind about using his natural advantages to their fullest potential in the slightest. And that meant finding him in the silliest of places all around the shrine - the rules were that he couldn't leave the shrine grounds to make the game slightly more fair to his human companion - and so far she had found him in the well, under the porch, hidden in Goshinboku's foliage and on top of the roof. All very standard, easily-accessible-by-humans hiding places.

But Kagome had searched through every nook and cranny of the shrine, the well house and her childhood home. She'd triple-checked places he'd already hidden, knowing he wouldn't expect her to look again - or perhaps he did, hence his absence - but there was absolutely no sign of the inuyoukai anywhere. It was like he'd disappeared into thin air!

Oh.

Looking around the courtyard, the paved stones almost blinding her in the dazzling afternoon sunlight, the young woman caught sight of an errant shadow, cast by a very small and solitary cloud on this cloudless-sky-so-blue-it-looks-CGI'd day.

Taking in a deep breath, Kagome plastered on a joyful smile before snapping her head up to stare directly into her amused lover's eyes.

"Found you!"
