Scream

A/N: This happened to me a few nights ago. It was horrific, I think I've been traumatised! Please review.

Prompt: Spider

Something was tickling her hand. Kagome moaned softly, not willing to be dragged from slumber by a mere tickle. Her body felt too heavy and her position was too comfortable to move from, but that persistent tickle was driving her mad. If Sesshoumaru was doing it to get her up, she would murder him.

"Sessh... Stop it." Her mumbled exclamation proved fruitless when the tickling moved up her arm, now making the crook of her elbow tingle. Why couldn't he just let her sleep?! Honestly, was that too much to ask! Clearly it was, since the feeling persisted until it was almost at her shoulder.

Extremely annoyed, the young woman reached over and flipped on the switch to give her mate a piece of her mind, only to see that it wasn't him because he wasn't in bed beside her. No, the creature tickling her was an absolutely ginormous spider that was creeping closer to her face with every single step it took on its wiry, furry legs.

Panic set in and with a startled scream, Kagome jumped from the bed, dislodging the imposter, before grabbing her slipper from beside the bed and vainly trying to squish the spider before it scuttled away under the cupboard. 

Moments later, Sesshoumaru ran through the door, worry written all over his handsome face. 

"Mate, what's wrong? What happened?"

Kagome raised her terrified gaze to the inuyoukai before launching herself into his waiting arms. Trembling she managed to blurt out,

"There was a... s-sp-sp-sp-spider! On my shoulder!"

With a relieved chuckle, the demon kissed the top of her head, thanking the Kami that it hadn't been anything else.
