Dye

Prompt: Ginger

"What happened?"

That was a good question. A very good question in fact, and one that had a surprisingly unexciting answer.

"The stylist mixed up the colours with a fellow customer. Needless to say, they weren't exactly amused to have chesnut hair."

"Is it permanent?"

"Thankfully not... It'll last three weeks." Kagome replied sullenly.

At that, her mate burst into raucous laughter, totally unconcerned about her feelings. She felt like crying and here he was relishing in her misfortune!

The miko had gone to a hair stylist having received vouchers from Sango with the assurance that he would make her hair absolutely gorgeous, and the treatment had included a semi-permanent dye in any shade. Kagome had decided to go with chesnut, thinking that a change from her regular black hair would be nice.

And it would've been nice, had the man not accidentally applied another person's dye on her hair instead. She wouldn't have minded, not really, had it been something like dark purple or some such colour- y'know, something not that obvious.

It was ginger.

GINGER.

She looked ridiculous.

She would look this ridiculous for three weeks.

Not to mention the fact that every time Sesshoumaru looked at her head, he started to giggle uncontrollably and had to leave the room before he choked to death on his own enjoyment.

Kagome knew it. She was in hell. The Kami were out to make her pay for some terrible thing she had done in a past life and they decided that complete and utter humiliation would be the way to go.

Tears escaped from her clenched lids as she ran to the bathroom. Desperately, the woman wondered if scrubbing her hair with a loofah would get rid of the vivid colour.
