The Curious Case of the Wac’oodle

_____

Bubbling around the snowy fields that surrounded the village of Edo-mill, was a little girl, who was bright as the sun and willow as a tree, with raven hair of bouncy curls as she strutted around with enthusiastic glee. A curious little thing she was, eyes wide and filled curiosity that made even the Galagon-Cat fall at her mercy. Shy she wasn’t and never will be, she spoke her mind even towards the Humdrum Bees. It was during this day, this one eventful day that she came across an entity, an unknown creature of glorious features that enhanced a snooty identity. She approached, silent and quiet to the slumbering beast, the loud snores that put the poor Zigziggering Raba-Jacks to cease.

Silver fluff covered the lean body, with the exception of its face, hands and feet while around its rear laid red breeches made of strange wooly fleece. Spirals of silver crowned its regal head, a typical Whoville fashion of one upright curly cue or three while it shimmered down layered across the arch spine of the slumbering beast. Large feet the creature had, covered comfortably in bow-tied shoes, but the claws were dangerous to see, as they broke out straight through the confining seams. Magenta stripes lay upon various locations on his body as a Prussian blue crescent between its brows signified an outlandish hierarchy.

Curious she was, she wandered forward, picking up a rock to tumble onward. A few paces near did she aimed back, one, two, three, did she released the pebbled gnat. She stumbled behind the bushes to wait, eyes gleaming as they were fixated on a terrible rude awake. But nothing happened and the creature slumbered, making her pout in frustration, stomp in agitation and ponder in vivid contemplation.

Something bigger she thought, looking around with wide, googly eyes, spotting an object and grinning with demise as she envisioned the creature’s horrible fright. A stick she’ll use, long and straight, a perfect object that’ll make the beast entranced to the bait.

Step, step, step she approached the second time, bypassing the quivering tail till she reached for the prize. Crouched down near its curled form, she pulled out her stick and poked till she couldn’t poke no more and anticipated the calm before the storm. It snorted, grumbling deeply before it turned away, its hand swiping near its bottom to lure away the pecking led astray. A bated breath she held, her knees trembling from the pressure of her weight as she watched onward for the sleep to occur, but it was for naught when it sneezed, it blew down trees and birds high above the canopies.

Rigid, she dared not moved when the creature raised its head, its upturned nose delicately sniffing the frosty breeze. Another sniff and it stopped, all she saw were the ferocious orbs of gold scowling at her, its lips curled back to reveal dangerous fangs meanwhile its tail flopped.

“A little girl I see, a troubling little girl I shall eat.”

“I am not a little girl you see, unless you’re still sluggish with sleep.” She was frightened, but what can she do, she could run and scream, is that what was destined she’ll do? “You don’t want to eat me dear beast, I’m icky and gross as spoiled yeast.”

He looked at her, little girl she wasn’t but a blossoming woman, but overall still annoying as she disturbed his calming sleep. “I care not who you are, you little woman, your chatting has annoyed me thus far and made my ears swollen.” He moved closer, his nose sniffing fancily at her fragrance, mind whirling when the soft allure guided him off balance with a vengeance.

“If I wish to talk, I shall speak; cover your ears puppy if you don’t wish to hear my cheek.”

“Puppy? You dare insult me, little girl, you have crossed that boundary.” He raised his claws high, “Now meet you demise, you simpering fool, you talked plenty and that has cost you, be prepared to be a pile of gruesome goo.” She closed her eyes and waited, however minutes passed and she dreaded. She opened her eyes and saw him glaring at the pendant grasped in his hand, shaking the trinket with ill-ease but the tortured movements it withstood. It glowed with ruby and it was frightening, she shivered when a crisp breeze spooked her gulp and winced when she swallowed her yelp.

“What is that?” Absentmindedly, she strode near the towering being, unaware or uncaring of the thunderous growling.

He turned his back to her, ignoring the rest of the girl’s chatter, “None of your concern, girl.” She wanted to test something, so with courage she grabbed the disregarded stick and stumbled to him, poking incessantly at the shoulder blades and watched him bristle and shot her looks of hate.

“I want to know.”

Poke, poke, and poke. “Would you stop your aggravating actions if I relent?” A nod in his direction, and with cunning he evaded her inquisition. “It is a pendent.”

She glared at him, not finding his evasion humorous. “I know that, do you take me as a brainless gnat?” He opened his mouth, ready to answer but she held her hand up, not wanting to hear his monotonous bother. “What does it do, if I may ask, but if you have no answer, it’s okay no one will think you’re a useless flask.” She smiled brightly when he scowled at her, her past fear now forgotten, something she thought she could never bear.

“It is a journey I must bear alone, something a bothersome girl, such as you, will never know.”

“Oh! A journey, how wonderful, if I dare ask, may I be your companion for this task!” She ignored his comment about being bothersome, too elated to finally part temporarily from the village of Edo-mill. All her life she lived in the humble village, due to her duties and responsibilities she haven’t had the privilege. An adventurer she was at heart, this opportunity would be a fantastic start.

“Stupid, deaf and blind, yes the fates are laughing but dear stupid girl, I must vehemently decline.” With that said, he wandered through the thickly packed forest of purple and pink, unsure how to respond when the little woman followed his steps in sync. The twisting barks and the wispy stalks didn’t hinder the girl’s demeanor, but from her contented sighs and wondrous gasps, he could tell she was a vivid dreamer. Over the rolling hills and the waving grass, an open area but it strangely was an impasse. He didn’t know where to go to lose the girl as each direction he turned, she surely followed while humming a nonsensical song unconcerned.

Thirty minutes passed and yet the girl continued to trespass. “Go away.” He said the fifth time, his brow ticking when she giggled cutely and continued humming a melodious tune, unperturbed at the fact he was acting like a spoiled prune.

After a second, she talked causing him to balk inwardly at the query. “What is your name?”

“It does not concern you.”

“Well it does for me, you see, unless you want me to continue calling you a beast?” She grinned when he glowered. “And I rather us be acquaintances than strangers.”

“The nonsense you partake in is a given, however the name will riddle you with malevolent hymns.” They passed the same scenery from whence their journey began, it seemed they were going in circle, but he knew exactly where he was going, after all he knew the location of his clan. He turned to the girl, her vivid azure eyes glanced curiously at him, waiting for him to state his most dreaded name. He wanted to hold off the inevitable, but alas it wasn’t enough before the girl questioned him once more about it, unable to keep quiet for minute long before blabbering like a dimwit. “I am called Sesshomaru, the Westerly Wac’oodle.”

A screech was heard a distance away before a symphony of nitwits resounded in the looming branches and he inwardly grumble, waiting for the obnoxious noises to decrease or he’ll show a ruthless rumble. It proceeded for a couple moments, pitching high and low through many notes, craving a way into the hearts with its indolence notions.

She looked around, amazed at the sound but giggled, happy at last that he stated his name. “A pleasure to meet your acquaintance good sir, my name is Kagome Higuroo, a name hopefully you won’t censor.”

Her countenance brightened even though it never dimmed, for she bounced and skipped, prancing around with flexible limbs. He stopped himself from rolling his eyes of gold, too annoyed and tired to chastise the burdensome mold. Onward they traversed, bypassing weeping pink pines and giggling cedars, overlooking dancing lilies and puckering roses to reach a cliff overseeing the crisp waters of Mazelcouph Dipper. They lingered near the pointed edge, mindful of the dangerous captivation that sang from the depths that may bound them to the ledge. The sun shimmered like a mirage across the creeping sea, brilliant rays hopped across the daunting waves to a degree; they fluttered against the jagged cliff in apparent idiosyncrasy.

“What exactly are we waiting for?” Kagome asked, her tone signifying that she was bored. They stood there for the past couple moments, her eyes blurry in a state of forced hypnosis. Sesshomaru only ignored her, his eyes dimly watching the horizon for flying feathered anchors. She huffed when she didn’t receive her answer, clamoring once more with a verbal dagger. “Must you ignore me so; give me an answer without acting like a scarecrow. I’ll hush up momentarily if you do, so dear acquaintance mind telling me or I’ll perish without further ado.”

“Why must you ask every question which has no significant to you, abstract yourself from this ridiculous behavior you nagging shrew.” Of course without fault did Kagome grew mad, once again speaking but it fell to deaf ears of her reluctant comrade. But blessed he seem this day, over the distance came the feathered fiend, their flapping rosy wings danced with the gentle breezeways. Kagome gasped in surprising awe, the chirping of the creatures could be confused with a hoarse guffaw. The gust of their wings, to the pinkish fur stood a massive creature of with a vicious allure. She jumped behind Sesshomaru, worried and scared, but once he stepped closer did the creature cooed. He jumped to one side of the curved hook, its wings flipping as Kagome hurried to the other nook. Off they went into the dazzling sun, west they were heading with absolute certain.

She screeched when its long fur tickled her legs, the curious eyes that appeared had left her vexed. “I’m standing on its face,” She said, scooting her limbs closer to the main body for much needed space. “Hey, I’m standing on its face!” Kagome yelled over the blistering wind, faltering under Sesshomaru’s steady gaze.

“We are standing on his faces.” Kagome was puzzled, as she could see two eyes on her side. “A rare deformation, their names are Ah-Un.” The creature was obviously delighted by their introduction when they hummed.

At a turbulent wind, she frantically clutched the flimsy fur, whimpering to herself when the wings faltered. Sesshomaru remained stoically in place, moving not once without falling into a dismay disgrace. How long they have been flying, he’ll never know, but as the sun peeked higher, he would say an hour or so. Finally reaching the whitened trees of Westerly Timbers, he praised his patience for withstanding the girl’s nauseous bickers. Landing as gently as possible on the silvered meadow, Kagome jumped, tumbled and landed in a deep burrow. Sighing to himself at her troubling presence, he wandered ahead, happy at last for girl’s good riddance. But it did not last, huffing and puffing could be heard behind him, he turned and noticed the girl’s shaken features and his brows furrowed with an irritable grim.

“I’ve called for you assistance good sir, it seem you don’t want to pursue our relationship to friendship.” She gibbered. No wonder the animals of the Westerly Timbers erupted in a sorrow noise, a pitiful noise that caused a hideous panic than glorious joy. How long must he endure such torture, he felt his resolve crumbling in askance horror.

“Why burden myself with a nonsensical task, you say meaningless things but not once my opinion was heard, a folly statement stupid girl, you have yet to ask.”

She paused, looking at the silvered being with large blue eyes, not oblivious to what the male has advised. “Do you want to be my friend?” She asked quietly, crossing over rocks and inverted bends.

“No.” He enunciated, apathetic to girl’s sudden despair. He cared no one but himself after all, weighing the girl with a vicious glare.

She pouted and moped, twiddling her thumbs as she wheeled away salty tears that shook her with dread. Why doesn’t he want to be friends, she pondered, kicking up rocks and debris that landed with a bluster. “I think we’re evolving from acquaintances to friends.” She meekly stated, hearing the scoff that coated his tone with acid. “It seems to me you never had friends, why is so bothersome for me to be your first?” The question she asked sent a sharp ping as she conversed.

“Why do you persist on becoming one?” His voice held no emotions, but to her it became common. Friends? What a ridiculous notion that penetrated his mind, there’s no need for friends as he was much too unkind.

As true as anything, the next question could have meant nothing or everything. “Why don’t you have friends, is because you always offend?”

“It does not matter, I do not need anybody. I suggest you watch your limited boundaries.”

“What boundaries would those be?”

He had a feeling what he’ll say will fall to deaf ears, and he was right for the girl turned away as if she did not hear. Her minute of sadness has dispersed, for she skipped and danced in a vigorous outburst. Wandering and wandering, the scene changed, what once was towering became exchanged. Short stalks of argent hue scattered about the meadow, the shrilling of animals were thunderous from a distance especially from the Sing-a-Ring crows. It was seemingly empty but that was at first glance, but a tiny speck a distance away was straightened as a wooden lance. Up ahead stood a tall figure, a spiny creature covered in purple fur remained stubbornly in placed as a swollen canker.

“Yo ho! Who do I see, a lovely vision and a beast!”

“Hello sir, who might you be?”

Sturdy against the ground attached firmly to his tail, he looked down and proceeded with his usual tale. “I am Miroku the Charmer, hailing from a land far from here, but I came here with my wife you see, she’s over there, isn’t she a beauty worth a thousand winks?” Said wife bounced over, covered head to tail in swirling pink, as her dazzling hair mimicked four clovers. “Her name is Sango, a fierce gorgeous thing she is, one bop, two bops, a thousand bops to the head, I dare say if I were to misbehave.” His wife seemed to blush at the compliment and her actions, but beamed at him with contented satisfaction.

“My name is Kagome and this is Sesshomaru.” Another disheartened melody rang through, the couple searched around, bewildered when it ended its cue.

“A pleasure to meet you.” After a moment of silent did Sango say, “But we must go now, or we’ll miss the festival of the Whompa-Loo Eggheads.”

“Go ahead my dear, I’ll catch up.” Miroku waved her ahead, and she disappeared with many bounce to the village of Whompa-Loo Eggheads. Turning to them, his violet eyes gleamed with mischievous nature, as he bowed towards the towering being in a humble gesture. “A prince of the Westerly Wac’oodles, a pompous lot of extravagant poodles,” Sesshomaru growled at the insult. “Yet so far away from pack you are, not here or there, right or left, a prince so low he committed a theft.”

Kagome gasped, a great crime committed, but yet he said nothing, merely rolling his eyes of gold, unconcerned as the creature dared to be bold. “How do you know this?”

“I hear talk, I hear chatters, but most of all from the land, I heard great clatters!” Miroku cheekily exclaimed, winking towards the duo. “However, I wouldn’t have known you would escape such promised lands, but I understand, your father must have been most displeased, he awaits in the meadowlands.” His message passed, he popped himself from the ground and bounced away, bustling through the lengthy trunks without further delay.

Strange it was for Kagome to witness, there were more to Sesshomaru’s ambiguous existence, but alas it wasn’t her place to pry in his business. But it didn’t take long to connect the dots, the pendent in his pocket has crossed her thoughts. Why would he steal a small trinket, for he was a prince and didn’t appear to be a sniveling thief, but it was a shock to her that she couldn’t believe, that he’ll stoop so low it squashed her measly beliefs. Her face contorted into the most miserable face she could muster, her brightened face losing much of her radiant luster.

Catching a look of hesitation from the girl, Sesshomaru couldn’t help but ask a question with a hurl. “You are shaken from what you witness; does it bother you enough to depart from my existence?”

Kagome glanced at him, wringing her petite mitten-covered hands in front of her yellow dress, what could she do miles away from home, continue the journey with him or wander back alone? A shiver rippled down her spine, from the cold or the thought, this time she wasn’t inclined for a whine. “I will stay with you, after all I am your companion till the end, and hopefully we’re almost through.”

Sesshomaru could only stare at her in contempt, why does she bother with her attempts? No matter how much he tries to make the girl depart, she remained, persistent as an incurable wart. What drives her to remain for he has been offensive and apathetic towards her over and over again?

“Are you like this because that you committed a crime?” She courageously chimed. If that was the case for his behavior towards her, then everything that has transpired was a shifting blur.

Sesshomaru gave no reply, there wasn’t one—well there wasn’t one that he was willing to impact on the girl, he didn’t owe her anything, not even a simple answer. Kagome shook her head sending her locks in a tussle, not sure how to deal with this enigmatic puzzle. He moved again, heading to the right, away from the path the Charmer disappeared to, unheeding to the message he imparted with delight.

Having made her choice before, she followed after the grumpy male, every single step was matched with quivering fours. Skipping they weren’t, nor were they galloping, but walking a pace that surprisingly left her gasping. Over rolling hills of green and yellow, such a cheery state has left her feeling strangely mellowed. They came across great creatures, but she sadly wasn’t in the mood to comment their diverse features. Creatures high and low, wide and tall, from small to big, nothing fascinated her too deeply to respond her tick. Beyond the horizon stood humongous turquoise trees, but the sweeping motions of the giant trees has placed her ill-at-ease. Through the swiping Wick-Wackers Willows with large pompom branches they bypassed, watching with dimmed awe as it cleanses the land flat. What it cleanses was obvious, however her eyes widened with astounding dubious, when the branches tickled her limbs with ravenous need, collecting dust as it murmured with marked glee.

Swab, swab and swab it done, even Sesshomaru balked at the action. Quickly they ran through the large annoying trees, however Kagome would stop and do a clumsy curtsy. Even though Sesshomaru’s face showed his growing displease, that didn’t prevent her from doing her ridiculous hobbies. Kagome felt comfortable, yet awkward in the company of these trees, her pass gloom seemed to vanished with each gentle squeeze. Finally stepping through the outskirts of the Swab-Swabbering Forest within the Westerly Timbers, the duo came across a clearing where the sun’s rays gleamed upon the brightest.

Laughter was heard some feet away, turning to the jubilant sound they were greeted with a nonsensical banquet. Two fuzzy balls floated around the greenish field, bouts of merriment emitted through, causing the duo to cringe at the loud squeals. Fuzzy little things they were for which they –unknowingly—caused Kagome to shudder into a pile of humorous purrs.

“Rin! Rin! You can’t catch me, Rin!” The orange puff said, whirling around the pasture while waving his arms as he continued his stunts. The other puff gave a soured huff, floating endlessly in the field, away from the arrogant struts. “Come on Rin, don’t be a party-pooper! Just have some fun and laugh for the awesome humor!”

“Rin doesn’t like this game, Shippou.” Rin mumbled, ignoring the prickly arms of the other as they flexed with false machismo. She wandered down to the rackety table, shifting tea cups and plates with a saddened portrayal. She gasped at the presence of the two strangers, swooshing towards Shippou in case of the first sign of danger.

Kagome stared with adoration at the spherical fluffy balls with non-descriptive faces, softening at the wary looks of their gazes. Sesshomaru only huffed with aggravation, knowing the girl couldn’t resist her fascination. She skipped towards the orange and brown, making a fool out of herself as a Knook-Ka-Lnook Clown. “Hello!” She greeted with a hearty grin, causing the youngsters to calm much to Sesshomaru’s chagrin. He wondered if this little woman will greet everyone they came across with, he absolutely hoped not, he won’t bow down to her whims.

“This is foolish; you are wasting my valuable time.” Sesshomaru said, as if Kagome committed an atrocious crime. His statement went to deaf ears as the women continued to talk to the two, but Sesshomaru thought of a perfect plan, abandon the girl for his rendezvous. It would have been a perfect plan if she hadn’t called out his shortened name, he gave where credit was due after all the lack of singing hushed his complains. But it seemed for naught, the youngsters shivered with distraught. The implication of his name is feared far and long, the witch who cast the spell made it into a feared song.

“It’s okay, he won’t hurt you at all, just ignore him and nothing will happen but his drawl.” He should feel insulted, but once he opened his mouth he was interrupted.

“So you gonna see the witch at her lair?” Shippou asked with a peculiar stare. He was slightly unnerved by such a stare, it made his luscious fur stand up with a flare. Kagome looked confused as she thought they were going to see the father of Sesshomaru, but the question the young fuzz signified an impromptu side-quest. This information made it difficult for her to digest.

She turned to look at Sesshomaru, only to see him walk away.

“He’s a grouch.” Shippou grumbled, but was cleverly muffled.

Rin whimpered as the male walked away unhindered. “Don’t say mean things Shippou.” Her arms waved frantically like the Wick-Wackers Willows.

“It was a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, but as you can see my dear companion has a problem with patience.” With a sprightly wave, Kagome departed from the giggling duo, following behind the Wac’oodle that began acting like a wet noodle. Tortuous the path was, curving like a serpentine dance, dangerous as she waited patiently for the Wac’oodle to explain the circumstance. “So we’re visiting the witch, huh?” She casually asked, expecting the natural silence once again.

“I am visiting the witch, you are to leave and go home.” He commanded, but he could tell the girl ignored what was demanded. He could only sigh in frustration, why does he continue to bother sending the girl home, she only added more to the situation.

They reached the jagged path of Mount Grumpit several miles away from the meadows, it was shrouded by the trees and the large crickets that bellowed. Kagome shivered when another howl whistled through, and whimpering, she walked closely to Sesshomaru, her voice grew subdued. “Get off me,” He grouchily said, shaking his arm to loosen the girl’s grip, but gave a yip when he stumbled over a root and tripped.

“Whoops, sorry!” However, it only caused him anger and with a heavy push, Kagome stumbled into the prickly under bush. Grumbling underneath her breath, she pulled out twigs and leaves out her curly hair, a defining mess. “Sessho, that was highly upsetting of you to do to your fragile companion, may I please have a fragment of your meager compassion?” She mumbled through her teeth, but it was for naught as her companion disappeared behind the rock-shaped beasts. What is with him? She pondered, her legs staggering across the path in a humorous totter. Passing cliffs miles high and pathways that stretches towards the skies, it would have been wonderful exercises if wasn’t for the Jumbala Flies. Big, spiny things they were, an annoyance as they weaved tales of their esteemed saboteurs. They flung themselves in her path, dilly-dallying her hair into messy halves. They repeated each swipe until her hair was shaped into a towering Gogalooza Pipe.

Catching up with Sesshomaru was a relief as the flies scurried away with shaken grief. She heaved a tiring sigh while touching her tangled hair, her expression shifting to horrify as the results gave her a scare. Shifting a narrow gaze at her, Sesshomaru couldn’t help the slick snicker that escaped his mouth, unaware to the fact that temper of the girl was aroused. “May I ask what is so funny sir?” She asked with a fierce slur. Her question was left unanswered as the imposing Wac’oodle continued laughing at her expense, oh dear, oh dear what can she do, nothing at all to this childish offense. The vehement laughter continued another moment, until they came across a deadly opponent.

His body tensed and his toes curling, the sky darkened and what appeared in a flash was a beautiful vermin. “Ah, Sesshomaru,” Kagome waited for the streams of songs that erupted with his name, but was surprised when such gloomy tunes were gone. She gave a gasp when she caught sight of the infamous witch, her beauty extravagant even though her body shook with an involuntary twitch. She was donned in a gown of reds and whites, while a scarf of yellow lay tied around her neck in stripes. She didn’t have a furry body and was the most humanoid figure they came across so far, though her nose was upturned with buttoned tip that seemed remarkably bizarre. Curls of ebony locks crowned down from her head as her ruby eyes stared at them with a threat. “I am Kagura, the Mount Grumpit Witch.” She haughtily said, her body giving another spastic twitch. Kagome wondered if she does that on purpose, as it seemed rather timed with her responses.

Kagura gave the duo an once-over, squirming towards them curiously before retaining her distance and composure. “So what have you came here for, hmm?” She asked, “I clearly remember you stole something from me a while back.”

Sesshomaru fished in his pocket for the small trinket, and watched as the witch’s eye gleamed with greedy interest. “You may have the pendent back if you release this one from your curse.”

“A foolish demand if I have the power over your curse.” She gave another twitch.

“Then I suppose this little object has no valuable worth.” Sesshomaru dropped the pendent at his feet, and lifted one of his legs ready to stomp at the fragile object but was stopped when the witch gave a small leap. A small smirk graced his face, “So this thing does matter…what I want is quite simple.”

“I refuse.” She snapped, her calm expression dwindling. Sesshomaru wasn’t sure what would happen if he destroyed the pendent, but if he had to live his entire life with the symphony of noises then he would do so, hopefully nothing vicious will happen from what he was about to undergo. The body of the witch tensed up even more and she retrieved a curved wand from her layered folds.

Kagome moved back a couple feet, hiding behind boulders for a safe retreat. She wasn’t sure what was about to arise, but from the tensed figures of Sesshomaru and Kagura gave her a slight warning as their body language screamed intense demise. She eeped when the ground shook, her balance wavering with each violent croak.

Sesshomaru stomped the object while the witch screamed, her wand glowing harshly and streamed onward, colliding into his body with a daunting red. He growled, feeling his bones shifting underneath the layers of fortified skin and fur. He could hear the continuous screams and bellows of the witch, the winding picking up rapidly as it swarmed around her body while outlandish booms screeched her follies. What seemed to be a century only lasted ten seconds, but a glorious end after the tornado vanished as the threat lessened to none.

Sesshomaru sighed through his nose, a part of his mind expected this; ignorance was not bliss. He rather remained oblivious to what happened, but he could tell the changes and it left him rattled. Across the clearing laid the garments of the witch. But it moved and the signature twitch occurred.

What remained of the witch was a small furry creature, and from her changed appearance, one could call her cute with her furry features.

She was tiny, with long ears and a fur mass around her neck, but her attitude remained as she glanced at them with a narcissistic speck. Only squeaks and mutters were uttered before she hopped away, but she didn’t go far as a wayward crow claimed her as prey.

Kagome peeked around the corner of the boulder, her hair fashioned again to be more disastrous style from the tornado. “Sessho?”

“What girl?” A gruff voice responded.

She walked forward and noticed a smaller figure of the Wac’oodle, who was now stranded in the form of a fluffy poodle. “What happened?”

“Can you not see, she cursed me again stupid girl, still blind after all what happened, I knew you had an empty skull.” Kagome ignored his harsh words and picked him up. But of course there were some resistance. “Let me go, I don’t need your assistance!” He snapped.

“You are so tiny, I couldn’t help it, so please stop being so whiney.”

“Fine, carry me if it silences you. Now take me to the Westerly Meadowlands, my father awaits there, the miserable fool.” Kagome winced when he talked about his father, his tone spoke that the being was a ridiculous bother. The duo left the rubble area and descended down the mountain, passing the many turns and bends that lay situated behind each rock. The Jumbala Flies kept their distance but from that distance did they mock. It was easy to ignore them, after all they squawked like fickle hens. From Sesshomaru’s guidance they reached the forest and moments passed before they arrived the clearing that held the Charmer.

“Which away?” She asked, a gleeful wind played with her tangled hair, shaping it into a slated square. Mou, now I need to cut my hair.

Sesshomaru sleepily opened his golden eyes and glanced at the crossroads, left or right. “Take a right and continued until you see grass of bright white.” Following his instructions, she scampered along the trail. Large mushrooms colored with shades of a rainbow laid among the worn path, each time they passed one, a cloudy fragrance expelled from the tops and it abnormally made her laugh. “Hurry and cover your nose, these are the Rum-Tumbling Mushroom Tops.” That being said, she quickened her pace while the fumes gave a great chase.

“I don’t think we can make it.” She laughed through her sentence, the gases slithered through her nose with a vengeance. Sesshomaru gave a restrained snicker that sounded like a cough, it was very hard to return to his demeanor of royal posh.

“Run stupid girl before we are overcome with laughter, I rather us not be bestowed with this disaster.”

Her legs shook with exertion, her arms tumbled from the weight of Sesshomaru’s body as she gave heaving gasps when her footwork became sloppy. A bright light peeked behind the drooping trees, and with a sudden burst of renewed energy, she busted through the leaves and collapsed on the white grass inexpertly. Sesshomaru scampered from beneath her body and trotted towards the figure that waited in the middle of the clearing, his calm expression shifted to sneering.

“Sesshomaru,” His father greeted, a firm gaze taking his new form in. “You seem to garner more trouble than your brother, Inuyasha.”

“Do not mention that whelp’s name in my presence.”

“Anyway, do I want to know what happened to you?” He asked, arching a brow at his son while bypassing the seething tone.

“It is none of your concern; I do not know why you foolishly called me here, I do not want to hear your ridiculous spiel.” Sesshomaru was ready to leave the meadow until the next word had him frozen in place.

“You are my heir, what am I suppose to say about your condition?”

“You have banished me before, when I stole that witch’s pendent. As you can tell, I am in…no condition to rule in your place.” A prominent position was all he ever dreamt about, but with his new form, his mind wandered with many doubts. Who would be loyal to him, he wasn’t intimidated now as he held no sway over those that won’t bow. “You have not seen me today.” He merely stated before walking away.

His father didn’t say anything, only stared as his eldest son ambled towards the little figure a ways away.

Sesshomaru reached Kagome’s side. “Get up, it is time to go.”

“Five more minutes.” She mumbled, her body spread like a snow angel, while her hair drooped to her shoulders in a cradle. He grumbled, his teeth grasping the clothing of the girl, pulling her to the forest.  “Okay, okay, I’m coming!” She got up and tried to fix her appearance, but the mud patches, twigs and knots were a noticeable interference. Sesshomaru hopped into her offered arms, after all who can say no to a free ride, there was no harm.

It was a peaceful moment, after they ran through the mushroom forest once more. “What are we gonna do now, dear sir, I would have guessed you would return to your father.”

“You are ignorant.” He stated with indifference.

“Must you be so mean to me; I’m only stating what I saw.”  She harrumphed, her legs moving on the familiar path to where the first arrived at the Westerly Timbers.
