"What was that about?" Sesshoumaru asked, his voice thick with sleep.

"Kikyo, begging me to tell the principal she didn't do anything so she won't be expelled."

"And your response?"

"She can sit and spin," the miko grunted. "She can bitch and whine about it all she wants. She can even beg. I'm not helping her. She was a part of it, whether she actually hit him or not. She deserves what she gets."

"Despite being family?" the taiyoukai enquired.

"She's no family of mine, not anymore."

Sesshoumaru smiled a genuine smile at Kagome's amazing emotional strength.
