Chapter 30 - TV Night

*Becoming Hollow* (Stella's Soundtrack Challenge)

She was actually sitting beside him of her own free will and it was wonderful. He had missed her so much that he felt as if he lost his very soul. Leaving her alone had left him feeling empty, hollow, and he hadn't known how he was going to go on. The fact that she came back to him of her own volition was like receiving a gift directly from the gods.

Now here she was beside him on his couch, somewhere he hadn't been able to sit at all once she'd dropped him as a friend because of all the memories. They were watching a program they used to get together to watch weekly, only now, Inuyasha sat on her other side, making rude comments about the show.

"Inuyasha," Kagome said with a sigh. "Sesshoumaru and I have always watched this show. If you don't like it, then you can go up to your room and watch something else. Just shut up already." While her words sounded irritated, the smile on her face softened her statement.

Sesshoumaru was even more thrilled than before. Not only was she there with him, but she was willing to be there alone with him. She didn't need Inuyasha there beside her to be comfortable in his presence. This was definitely the best night he'd had in a hell of a long time.

"Fine, I'll leave you two alone. I know that's what you want anyway," the hanyou said with a grin.

"Inuyasha," the miko said in a warning tone, causing the hanyou to raise his hands in surrender and walk away.

When they were alone, Kagome turned and looked at the taiyoukai beside her. "I'm lost. I couldn't watch this show without you and now I have no idea what's going on."

Sesshoumaru smiled. "I couldn't bring myself to watch without you either." Suddenly he realized just how hard their separation had to have been on her as well. She hadn't just dropped him without a care. She'd been suffering as well. Maybe he had deserved the way she treated him. He knew he'd been a massive ass to Inuyasha, and he hadn't been all that great to her either with all his snide comments about her new friend. He was just glad it was over and they were friends again, even if it was on a trial basis. He had no intention of screwing up.

"So, shall we check On Demand for the episodes we missed?" Kagome asked.

In an instant, Sesshoumaru had the remote and was searching. It was almost like they were making up for lost time, going back to repair the damage that had been done to their friendship, all through a television program. "Yup! Here they are." He would happily kill a few hours with her getting caught up, both on their favorite show, and their relationship, all at once.
