The taiyoukai screwed up massively by deciding to change his stance on hanyou. Choosing to stick up for his half-brother was life-altering. In an instant he'd given up his place as the most popular student. Now he was nothing, trash just like the half-breed he picked over his friends. Hiten didn't have a problem taking his place. He had always despised Sesshoumaru, jealous of his status.
