Her body remains stiff within my arms and for a moment I fear that she may push me away, admonishing me for taking such liberties with her person.

I become certain that my rash actions have ruined our growing accord. Visions of being denied her warmth and having this newly discovered springtime once more encased in icy indifference flash before my eyes.

Unaccustomed panic sets in just as I feel her arms tentatively come to rest against my back, her small blunt tipped fingers gripping my haori with quiet desperation.

My arms tighten drawing her closer against me in response.
