Unfortunately I recognize that voice and it belongs to something far worse.

Keeping my eyes shut in hope that this is merely some chicanery of the Kami’s design, I am sorely disappointed when the obnoxious voice of Inuyasha once again sounds across the clearing.

“What the HELL!”

At the hanyou’s exclamation the priestess stirs, burrowing further into my side while burying her face against my neck with a whimper, seemingly attempting to escape the noise.

The combination of that sweet whimper and her lips on my throat causes my heart to race, and the blood to pound in my veins.
