I was uncertain she would fully understand what I was saying, had I been too obtuse? I did not want to reveal all, but I need her to understand at least part of her significance to me.

I need not have worried; my statement was met with a radiant smile.

I marvel at her, awed as our fingers thread together and she clasps my tainted hand rufescent with blood in her own; a hand that has ended many lives, that had indeed attempted to end hers.

I may be unworthy of such purity but I refuse to let it go!
