This seems to awaken the priestess from her shock and she blinks. Dark crimson spreads across her face as her mouth opens and closes, her lips attempting to form words that will not come; a soft squeaking sound is all that emerges before she clamps her jaw together with an audible snap, followed by a jerky nod in answer to my query.
