Deadly Spices

Stella's Spicy Challenge

Prompt: Oregano

“So, how did it go?” Sango asked, putting on her work shoes as she waited for Kagome to finish dressing. Kagome groaned, shutting her locker with a sour look.

“Well, I wouldn’t know since he never showed up!” Kagome huffed, clearly upset at the man’s obvious disinterest.

“He never showed up? Did you tell him where to meet you at?” Sango asked in disbelief. She didn’t really think her friend would ask him, but the fact that she did was a shock in itself.

“I did! He told me he’d think about it, and when I went to the café, he wasn’t there. So I waited for at least thirty minutes or so…but still, nothing! I told you, Sango, the man’s a jerk!”

Kagome was personally hurt by his rejection. If he was going to bail on her at the last second, then why even agree to something? Kagome growled, clenching her fists in anger.

Because he was a jerk…that’s why!

“Maybe he misunderstood you. Give him a break, Kagome. You can be hard to understand sometimes.” Sango said, walking towards the door and opening it, leaving the frazzled girl with her thoughts.

“Traitor!” Kagome yelled, watching as her best friend left her alone in the locker room.

“Girl, you have been glaring at this one for an hour now. It is irritating.” Sesshomaru mentioned, with an elegant brow raised. Kagome felt her eye twitch at his statement. He was irritated? No! He was not allowed to be irritated!

“You’re irritated? As if!” Kagome replied, taking the finished dish he passed to her, her eyes glaring at him as she did.

“I take it you have an objection, then?” He responded, smirking slightly. She was so attractive when frazzled.

“You completely ditched me this morning! Of course I’m objecting!” Kagome huffed, holding the platter in one hand.

“This one was not aware you could ditch an obligation that was never promised to begin with.” Sesshomaru stated, leaning back against the counter with an amused look.

Kagome put down the dish, stomping over to the counter he was propped against, intent on wiping that smirked expression from his face.

“Don’t pull that on me, Sesshomaru. You said-”

“I do believe I said I would think on it. I never promised anything.”

Kagome halted as his words processed through her mind. She clearly remembered him saying…

She blushed deeply, feeling very embarrassed at having accused him of something he did not agree to…and she had made such a big deal of it, too!

“Your lack of communication is merit enough that you have realized your error.” He grinned, clearly satisfied at her humiliation.

“Fine, I’m sorry! Happy now? You don’t have to rub it in my face, ya know!” Kagome growled, turning around to leave, but stopped as she felt a hand on her arm.

She glanced over her shoulder, looking to his arm, which was outstretched towards her.

“Drinks tonight, then. Eight o’clock.” He purred, stepping towards her slowly. Kagome blushed brightly, before she tugged her arm away from him and ran out of the kitchen door, plate in hand.

“Fine…but you’re paying!”

--

It had been pouring rain when she left for the bar.

She had been sitting here for at least twenty minutes now. After their colorful conversation just a few hours earlier, he had written the name of the bar she was currently in, once again reminding her he would be there at eight o’clock.

She knew she was early…but she couldn’t wait any longer. She was slightly nervous…and yet slightly excited to be meeting him here.

Kagome sipped at her Bloody Mary, looking at the clock behind the bartender and huffing slightly. It was five minutes to eight…was he going to stand her up again?

She paled, looking to her drink. She hoped not…she hardly have enough money to cover her bills…let alone drinks at a bar!

The combination of the salt and spice from her drink made her think of the mysterious man who had been plaguing her thoughts lately. He could be bitter at some points…

…but as she watched him enter the bar with a white shirt that was drenched with rain, clinging to his finely sculpted chest, she had to cross her legs to keep her desire at bay.

At other times… he was downright spicy, bringing out her lust in ways that had never been done.
