Deadly Spices

Stella’s Spicy Challenge

Prompt: Turmeric

--

When Kagome came home from work that night, she was surprised to see the bouquet of lilies sitting on her table, with a card resting against its vase. She smiled, knowing it was from her overly affectionate boyfriend.

She had been shocked, after just a few days after dating Sesshomaru, that he was actually a very caring and sweet boyfriend to her. He doted on her, constantly making sure she was taken care of and had everything she needed. He did, however, respect her space when it was needed, however, and for that she was also greatly relieved. There was nothing worse than a clingy boy toy.

The attractions she had felt towards him in the beginning had sprouted into full on love for him. She could not imagine a life without him, now that she had tasted perfection. He was hers to savor, and she intended on taking every last bite of him that he offered.

She took the card, laughing quietly at his crude, yet eloquent remarks in his neatly written script. He had quite the sense of humor as well, she noted.

‘Change into something presentable upon your return. I understand it will be difficult, given your current salary.’

She giggled, remembering that particular conversation. She would refuse his money, and would insist on buying her own clothes and jewelry. He would often pick on her, and she would remark that she did just fine as a waitress. He scoffed at her, anyway, and so she could only assume that this was payback for all those remarks.

She did as the note requested, however, and changed into something ‘proper.’

He waited.

She is late.

Looking to his watch, he sighed, for what must have been the hundredth time that night.

Where is she?

His heart pounded in his chest. This was it. No going back. All the preparations had been made. Now he just needed her to—

“Hey, hot stuff.”

Speak of the devil…

“You are late,” Sesshomaru almost growled, but as he took in her appearance, he had immediately forgiven her for… what was he mad at again?

“A waitress is never late, or early. She arrives precisely when she means to!” Kagome winked, reciting the line of one of her favorite movies. Sesshomaru caught her remark and raised a brow quickly, the smirk on his face being wiped away as she pressed her lips to his. “I’m sorry. I got stuck in traffic.”

“You are forgiven,” he chuckled, pressing his forehead against hers. “Come, we have much to discuss.”

“What did you want to talk about?” Kagome asked, completely oblivious to what was going on. She and Sesshomaru walked through the gardens at the local park, where he had asked her to meet him. It was quite nice out, and the weather was warm enough to enjoy a little rendezvous.

“I’ve spoken to your mother,” he started, holding out his arm to her. She looped hers with his, delighting in the feel of his hand on hers.

“What did you think of her?” She asked, genuinely curious.

“It is obvious you are descendant of her.” He stated, in a rather bored tone. Kagome laughed, for it was such a Sesshomaru thing to say.

“No duh!” she giggled, sticking out her tongue. “I’m sorry… continue?”

Sesshomaru stopped them, turning her around to face him. Her eyes had been closed for a moment before he did this, and when she opened them, she saw that his eyes were glowing brighter then she had ever seen them before. The moon on his forehead seemed to illuminate his face, bringing out the gold in his gaze more intensely.

“More.” He spoke, confusing her. When she went to open her lips, he took a clawed hand and shushed her. “This is simply not enough.”

What are you talking about?” She asked. Okay, he better start making sense. It sounded like he was propos— “M-more?!”

“She has approved.” He said, his breath husky as he took her hands in his. “The final decision is up to you.”

“Holy fuck.” Kagome whispered, and when he took out a ring from his suit pocket, she felt her heart hammering in her chest.

“Your reply?” he asked, and she could see how nervous he was about this. The strong, cold, aloof demon… was terrified.

Does he think I’ll reject him?

“Are you sure? You really want this?” She whispered, her knees shaking.

“If you do not, then I will understand.” He went to move his hand, but she stopped him.

“You idiot,” she replied, pulling him to her and crashing her lips onto him. He responded into her kiss, snarling as her hands found his scalp, tugging on his hair. He somehow managed to slip the ring onto her finger, before pushing her against a tree.

“You are a fiery little thing,” he growled, nipping her neck. “I would not have expected such boldness on a night like this.”

“Yeah well, we didn’t quite have a fairytale beginning… now did we? If I remember correctly, you could have been casted as the villain, not the prince.”

His hands went to her hips, pulling her underwear down to her knees. She moaned, feeling him press his unclothed erection to her entrance. “Say it,” he growled, his fangs pressing against her throat.

“Fuck me,” she breathed, then lifted her head to look into his molten honey eyes, “Then marry me.”

Thrusting himself into her, he relished the sounds of her acceptance, promising her to do just that.
