Chocolate Medicine

                “Here you go!” Kagome answered giving Sango chocolate.  She gave Rin a box too and Sesshomaru noticed that the women were the only ones she gave this treat to.  What was it and why could he not receive it? 

                “What is this Kagome?”  Sango asked opening the box Kagome gave her.  Inside was a dark looking material- she’d seen Kagome eat it before but had never had some herself.

                “Chocolate- Tomo chocolate!”  Kagome then flushed.  “I’m actually supposed to give them to you in February but with the final battle approaching I wanted you girls to enjoy what some females in my time refer to as the best medicine ever!” 

                Sango raised a skeptical brow but took a piece out and tried it.  She liked the taste- it was slightly bitter but milky and it melted on her tongue.  She wanted to try more.  Before she could however, Kagome put a hand on hers. 

                “Just be careful!  It’s your first time so I don’t want you to gorge yourself and get a stomach-ache okay?”  Sango nodded before she took another piece. 

                “This Sesshomaru wishes to try a piece.”  Sesshomaru stated approaching her.  He was curious about this medicine that Kagome talked about and wondered if it was harmful to Rin or would really help her- was she sick and he didn’t know?  Was this an ailment that only women knew of?

                “Um Sesshomaru-sama, it’s not that I don’t want you to get sick.  In my time, it is known that dogs are allergic to chocolate, I don’t want it to harm you.”  Inuyasha laughed in the background but a well-placed hit to the head from Miroku’s staff quieted him quickly. 

                “Hn.” 

                Sesshomaru noticed that pieces Sango were picking up were quickly melting on her hands.  Kagome had a piece of chocolate in her hands too- she’d taken it from Sango’s box earlier.  Kagome noticed his gaze and quickly dropped the piece of chocolate she had into her mouth.  However, it didn’t deter Sesshomaru who was now only too glad to see his prize.  Taking her hand in his, he quickly crouched down and gave her fingers a long slow lick.  The medicine tasted bitter but much too sweet- it didn’t taste like medicine- it had no herbs. 

                “Kagome, this is not medicine.”  He clarified letting her hand go.  The entire camp which had gone silent at his actions waited to see what Kagome would do now. 

                “Of course it’s not- it’s a dessert.”  Kagome answered looking at her hand.  Had Sesshomaru just licked it?  What the hell?  Of course they had become friends over the month and a half that they had been travelling together but she didn’t think they were that close! 

                “Hn; do not lie then.”  Sesshomaru stated moving back.  He had to admit, he may not have liked the taste of chocolate but maybe just maybe his thoughts might change soon.
