Chapter 66: Flicker

Her downcast expression bothered him, and her little sighs tugged at his conscience. The longer he stared at her, the more upset he became, and the towel in his hands suffered for it.

Sesshoumaru’s eyes flicked to the checkered rag he was holding. His tapered fingers squeezed the cloth tightly as he waited for Kagome to finish with the plate she was washing. She passed it to him a moment later, being careful not to brush her hand with his. The last time that happened, she had nearly dropped a glass in surprise.

So, touching was out of the question…
