Chapter 62: Fire

When Kagome had woken up that morning, she had been sure that she had gotten rid of all the dried crust in her eyes. It was apparent now that she had been wrong, for it felt like she was still swimming in the sands of sleep, buried beneath them and sinking ever lower. Perhaps it was all an illusion, wrought by fevered dreams or hellish nightmares.

The heat felt real enough…

Oh, wait.

That was just the blush lighting her face on fire as Sesshoumaru sent her another knowing smirk.

He would be the death of her. She knew it.
