Chapter 55: Flame

A couple of well-placed drops later, and Kagome’s eyes were almost back to normal. Granted, her pupils were still freakishly huge, but her blurry vision was beginning to fade.

Kagome was just lucky that she had an extra bottle of eye drops. The last one had done more harm than good, to be honest. Blinking twice, she winced, thinking of her allergic reaction to the prescribed solution; instead of clearing her ailments like they were supposed to, the drops had burned her eyes, leaving behind streaks of red throughout her sclera.

It was like dousing her eyes in liquid fire.
