Chapter 53: Fine

As she was tucking a pillow beneath Sesshoumaru’s head, Kagome winced when a sudden pressure spiked behind her eyes, the pain lasting only a few seconds before it disappeared altogether. Dropping to her knees beside the couch, she alternated between rubbing her eyelids and massaging her temples to alleviate the lingering ache of the random attack.

Chancing a peek at Sesshoumaru’s silent form, she breathed a sigh of relief when he didn’t show any signs of stirring.

“Get it together, Kagome,” she whispered to herself. “Everything’s fine.” A wave of nausea overcame her when she staggered to her feet.
