Chapter 51: Flutter

Kagome let out a few pleased sighs as she stretched her arms high above her head, a feminine yawn echoing in the silence of the room. Sesshoumaru slumbered next to her, his normally stern expression calm and relaxed. His chest rose and fell with the lightest of breaths, while his uninjured arm lay across his stomach, fingers splayed flat against his midsection.

It was incredibly humbling to see him stripped of his usual icy mask and so at ease in her presence.

Her heart fluttered, and her gaze softened further.

It wouldn’t hurt to admire him just a little longer.
