Chapter 44: Foiled

Tucking her legs beneath her, Kagome dropped her hands into her lap, fingers lacing together nervously. She sat across from Sesshoumaru, watching intently as he gingerly picked up his cup of tea and brought it to his lips–the same lips she had fantasized about kissing only hours earlier.

With wide eyes, she quickly slapped her palm over her mouth and regarded the male somewhat warily, edging away from him unconsciously. And as if knowing her thoughts, Sesshoumaru gave her a smug smirk.

Oh, dear…

The man didn’t even have to say a word, and she was already having heart palpitations!
