Chapter 247: Grizzle

The noise of a hollow thud cut across the still clearing. A sigh followed soon after as Kaede’s weary gaze fell upon the slumped form of the strange female.

“You’re a unique one, girl. Though I’m not sure that is a good thing,” she muttered to her. The cold air felt crisp and bitter against her weathered skin, the dark sky offering nothing but a sense of foreboding to her heart. The old woman was brought out of her musings when Rikichi approached her slowly, the arm of one of the younger men slung over his shoulders.

“What now, Kaede-sama?”
