Chapter 204: Godsend

The muscles in her throat eased slightly as the tiny dog charm, unassuming as it was extremely adorable, maintained its spell. Glimmering brilliantly in a haze of sapphire, its iridescent shade resembled the hues of her own eyes; oddly defiant and unexpectedly strong. Its form, more of an arch than a full-fledged dome, held only half of the power of both charms combined.

And even still, it remained, hovering in the air where she had thrown it, in spite of the elevated prowess the creature claimed to possess.

Kagome would have collapsed then if a small fissure hadn’t appeared…and spread.
