Chapter 179: Glare

“Not that I mind, but why are you clinging onto me?” Sesshoumaru asked, his tone belying his genuine curiosity. Muramasa’s weapon was oddly soothing in his grasp as Kagome recounted her brief experience without him. He fought the strangest urge to scratch his face as his cheek itched and throbbed uncomfortably.

“You’ll just make the cut worse,” Kagome muttered, noticing the twitch of his fingers. At his grimace, she added, “Blame the rock. Who knew there’d be one in the dirt?”

Glowering at her sarcasm, the man said nothing. Kagome ducked her head, cheeks warming under his disapproval.
