Chapter 170: Glue

It was the scratching, slithering sound of something over the dirt that had goosebumps prickling along Kagome’s skin. Eyes widening in alarm, she leaned toward Sesshoumaru, practically gluing herself to his side. The poor man wasn’t even awake to scold her for it, but nevertheless, Kagome found safety in his presence. She knew at least that she wasn’t alone; the thought was somewhat comforting.

If only she could use something to defend the both of them with. Scrambling around in the dirt with an unseen threat nearby didn’t seem like an honorable way to die.

Unless… She became Sesshoumaru’s shield.
