Chapter 165: Godawful Circumstance

“This area… It’s hollow and weakened by age: Be careful.”

Nodding slightly, Kagome latched onto Sesshoumaru’s hand, fingers squeezing his tightly as she lowered herself to his level. The wooden panels beneath her feet groaned in protest and then sighed once the man locked an arm around her waist. A moment passed before she was placed onto the dirt-covered ground beside him.

“I’m not even sure why I agreed to this,” she said, whipping out her cellphone from her pocket. With a press of a button, the built-in camera light illuminated the dark space they found themselves in.
