Chapter 162: Gentle Touch
“Now, if we could just find the darn manuscripts, I could explain this all a little better. I’ve seen the proof firsthand,” Kagome muttered, huffing as she struggled to lift a box from one of the shelves on the wall. She managed to slide it over a couple of inches when the sound of splintering wood reached her ears. She yelped in surprise when the shelf suddenly collapsed and the box tumbled to the floor, cracking the wood beneath its dense weight.
“Are you alright?” came Sesshoumaru’s voice, which was much closer to her than she’d remembered. “Kagome?”
